Ive tried 1/8 aluminum stacked at 200, just for laughs, and it murdered it. I find if anything my machine runs hot. Once you dial it in it welds great!
Yes, it will do aluminum. They provide a sleeve for welding wire, or you can switch to a handheld spool. I love mine so far. $329 on Amazon.
So I was welding this weekend and I think the last ten or twenty percent of the pedal doesn't give it anymore, so I think it hits 100% before the pedal is full depressed. IT is a hard one to figure out when you are concentrating on welding, but I think your right.
@vanguardcycle Correct, no amp control, that is why I use the foot pedal for amp control, otherwise you can just use the torch it comes with, even though it is heavy. A lighter switch, like what comes on the 2 pin torch would be niece, I am positive I have seen the same type of switch in 5 pin, but again I use the foot control and remove the switch. the description on the torch is WP17 Air-Cooled Tig Torch With 13FT Cable Plug 16M-2 M16*1.5 Connector.
Im layin peelers with 1/8 and 3/32 7018 on my yes welder tig 205 on 220 off a 30 amp plug
I just got this machine so far the stick welding is excellent I've tried the tig I'm not very good at it yet but it's nice to play with something a little different
I have this unit in addition to the Mig 205DS Pro and TIG 205p Pro welders. Surprisingly, tall three have output power within 5% of stated claims. All the other cheap inverter rigs have inflated numbers. The board layout and component quality is good. Their earlier stuff was meh. All their latest models... Can't beat the quality for the price.
I bought one of these machines for use at the cabin and love it! Great little machine! 😁 Thanks for posting!
Still extremely happy with it. Used it last week to build some shelf brackets and it ran great. I used a be biased towards Miller but I would not hesitate to purchase this machine and put the extra saving into another machine or something else. Also used the YesWelder TIG this week to weld some stainless on a side job and that ran well too.
My yeswelder ac/dc TIG went bad 1 year and 3 months after I purchased it. I called them and told them what was going on they sent me an entire new welder with a complete kit including an upgraded torch and upgraded ground clamp just like the one in your video that comes with the weldpro at no cost at all to me and told me I could keep my old welder for parts
this thread has had staying power it seems so I don't feel so bad adding to it. I am retired now but before I left I bought a weldpro mig, tig, stick welder for the shop, don't remember the amperage but it was the higher amperage range model. Long story short it worked very well in all modes, the lift tig function worked surprisingly well. I think the cost was around 700 bucks. For around 400 bucks the YesWelder mig 205 performs just as well. I bought the Yeswelder tig rig for 50 bucks so all in it was less than 450.( I already had bottles and regulators ) There is a spool gun available for the weldpro, I don't know about the yeswelder but I would suspect there is. I have a spool gun for one of the Lincolns so I didn't check to see if there was one for the yeswelder.
