This company upped their game a long way from a cheap welder on Amazon. I tried this same machine and it stacked up really well against my Millarmatic 211 Pro which in the U.K. is nearly £2000. I’ve been welding for fifty-five years and this Yes Welder is one of the better cheaper options at under £500.
I used mix gas on mild steel, haven't tried Aluminum with it yet.
These are great stick welders, especially on 220v. I paid $108 for it on Amazon without the TIG gun.
Miller 211 auto set and a yes welder 205DS pro. Both machines do everything I need and I’m a novice at best. Learned in the field doing farm repairs and automotive repair. I wish I could buy one multiprocess machine but I have everything I need to get stuff done.
Useless review, basically it sucks... two main things about this machine are the TIG and the MIG aluminium which was not demonstrated. Three palm sized pieces of mig welded rebar dont say much for this welder.
I got one of these and it's pretty dam good!!!! And priced right
Havnt really done mig or anything else yet, dont have gas yet. Flux-core wire ran/burned just fine though
Im layin peelers with 1/8 and 3/32 7018 on my yes welder tig 205 on 220 off a 30 amp plug
I believe this Yeswelder MIG205DS Pro can achieve welding up 5/16" with the correct method and wire thickness. I have welded 1/2" plate by beveling the plates and doing a couple of paths. 5/16 plate is not much larger than 1/4" so it should be achievable. As for tractors, if its a major structural part I would get a professional to help you.
Same here... same rig, same helmet, same wire... same results! I now have a welder I can run off a 4500 watt generator and throw it all in the back of my pickup. Burn Baby Burn!
@ I ran up to a 7013 rod with no problems
I reeeeallly like this machine. It is going to be a hard one to beat!
I just received one of these welders. The first bead I laid down told me this machine is awesome. I’ve welded for 40 years on and off. Use to be a welder for a major compressor company. Retired with engineering group. I’ve been dealing with a Hobart 140 for the last 6 years. It will not stand up to this machine.. love it right out of the box
I agree the MIG205ds and MIG205ds Pro have larger cables and handle the heat a lot better. The ground cable on my 200 did start melting a while back and the outer jacket just seems to fall apart with high heat. My first 205ds went out in a bang but when they work they lay down some nice dimes.
I have this unit in addition to the Mig 205DS Pro and TIG 205p Pro welders. Surprisingly, tall three have output power within 5% of stated claims. All the other cheap inverter rigs have inflated numbers. The board layout and component quality is good. Their earlier stuff was meh. All their latest models... Can't beat the quality for the price.
I've had numerous inexpensive inverter rigs. This is the first one that had output numbers that matched their claims. The power divider circuit is hands above competitors.
I find the yeswelder a weird mig welder for me it seems like it surge's as you weld with it. I have a suseme mig-235 I weld with on the regular and it don't surge when I weld with it wether it Flux or mig. That's the difference between the two in my opinion.
