I've owned both. I'd take this 211i in a heartbeat.
I've had a Lincoln 211i for almost a year. Solid machine. Either one you cannot go wrong. I do some metal art work and even took a class where the Lincoln 211i machine was featured and it was first rate. A tip. If you are serious about welding...even as a hobby, go red or blue. Stay away from Amazon.
I believe the millers have a board issue, cause in my experience in the last shop i welded for, we had 2 fail… though they welded 8-10 hours a day, everyday. We beat them up. My Lincoln has been great so far, along with my 1999 ranger 8. They make a great machine, hopefully i continue to have great success with them. I’ve heard the new everlast have had awful board failures, i am constantly seeing posts on facebook about it as well. I’m glad to have an older 315LX
I just picked up a 211I, to replace an Everlast. Not that the Everlast was bad, but I just missed my Lincoln. I've had two other Lincoln machines and they were both bomb proof. I have lots of trigger time on Millermatics, Hobart, and others. Most are great, reliable machines, but I keep going back to Lincoln. Such a sweet and reliable arc. I've heard lots of MIller MM211s burning up circuit boards. Maybe it has something to do with the fan not running as often as it should? Personally I prefer the fan running all the time. It isn't very loud, and like you said, it's a great reminder to turn the machine off. I left my Hobart on all the time! Lol
Ran dual-shield with mine in all positions and runs great!
Update after 6 months, still welds just fine. 😂
Well, that low-key makes me sad cause i am an everlast fan… was it an older unit? But my Lincoln is still working as good as the day it came out of the box. No complaints.
I can’t lie, that’s a tough choice. I have really enjoyed my Lincoln… but i don’t have has many hours on it as i have put on a miller 211 (which was owned by my previous employer) We did all our production work with millers… they just kept going. Only had one board fail in 3 years
I’ll update you in 12 months, so far it’s been an awesome machine for the money. Made me my money back on its first job.
Hey Chris, yes i am still loving the machine it has done serval jobs for me without any sort of issue! It certainly has paid itself off within these few weeks of purchasing it. I will be updating in a few months with more of an in-depth review after some usage. Thanks for watching!
Not a problem! Been a good machine so far for me
i really hate it hear that man, i have really been on the fence with both brands..miller or lincoln. Ive welded with both, i have both of their hoods, use both of their hobby machines. I have had issues with both. This welder has been an awesome unit so far in my shop, i have done serveral jobs with it & it hasnt skipped a beat. I guess we will see how it lasts over the next year.. I went out on a limp and bought this AlphaTig AHP unit... everyone had mixed opinions on it. I can say for a 200 amp ACDC tig machine its been worth the money. Its starting to look like Miller NOR Lincoln has a hold on the market anymore.
I have always owned and used Lincoln products. About 6 year ago I bought a new MIG ,( my old one was over 15 years old, still in use ) , I had nothing but problems with this machine, contacted welding supplier that I bought from, no assistance , even talked to Lincoln at SEMA, still no luck, finally after fighting with it for a year, I gave it away, Bought a Miller. Will not own another Lincoln welder.
My Lincoln 211 is in for repair it happens to all brands, My school runs the 255 I plan to buy a 255. I run a 252 for FCAW and it runs great but its not portable in the slightest. I also want the DC tig as well. The 211 is ok but I want a single machine that I can bring to a job and do multiple processes.
@BakersGas really like it so far. Super simple, straight forward, good power, small and versatile at a great price. This is the perfect welder for an auto body technician like myself. Also, thank you guys for the free shipping. I first priced it out with airgas and they were going to charge tax and shipping. So it was quite a bit cheaper buying from you.
